SUPPORTING WOMEN TO ESTABLISH SMALL SCALE LAYER POULTRY FARMING

Following its efforts to promote layer poultry farming, today Hand in Hand Afghanistan provided 1,780 layer chickens for 89 low-income families in Khulm district and fifth city district of Mazar-e-Sharif, Balkh province.
Each woman received 20 layer chickens, these women have already gone through the practical poultry farming training and received the required tools such as feed, water pot, feeder, etc… earlier and built their chicken coops.
In this distribution Mrs. Shahla Hadid, Director of Balkh Women’s Affairs department and representatives from Balkh Department of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock participated.
