During the 8th Forum for Businesswomen within OIC Member Countries, the HiH-AF Chairperson had constructive speech for the members addressing challenges women entrepreneurs face in Afghanistan and also discussed efforts made by Hand in Hand – Afghanistan to empower women with aim to reduce poverty through job creation. Seema Ghani highlighted how women’s role can be fundamental if they have access to credit and have sustained economic condition. She also introduced Afghanistan a country of opportunities for women entrepreneurs despite various social, political and cultural barriers. The participants were briefed on how living conditions of Afghan women have changed since fall of Taliban and as well as activities of Hand in Hand in Afghanistan.
The Islamic Chamber of Commerce, Industry & Agriculture (ICCIA) organized the 8th Forum for Businesswomen in Islamic Countries in Kampala, Uganda from 26th to 29th October 2015. The Businesswomen 8th Forum held concurrently with the 17th Private Sector Meeting and the 15th Trade Fair of the OIC Countries.
