Provincial Authorities Request For Project Expansion In All Districts Of Samangan Province

Hand in Hand Afghanistan conducted Stakeholders Meeting for “Supporting Rural Entrepreneurship and Promoting Women’s Socio-conomic Empowerment” project that is implementing in Dar-e-Suf Bala and Dar-e-Suf Payeen districts of Samangan province.   The purpose of the meeting was to give stakeholders a brief of current achievements in the province, present 2016 action plan and receive feedback and suggestions for HiH AF operations in Samangan province.

The meeting took place on January 13, 2016 in Aybak city, key participants of the meeting were the provincial authorities including Deputy Governor, Deputy of Provincial Council, Director of Women Affairs Department, Director of Rural Rehabilitation and Development Department, Director of Labour and Social Affairs Department, District Administrators of Dar-e-Suf Bala and Dar-e-Suf Payeen and Ms. Seema Ghani HiH AF chairperson for board of directors, representatives of Self Help Groups and NGOs operating in the province.

Dr. Karman Hekmati, HiH AF Program Manager, presented progress, achievements, challenges and 2016 action plan. Mr. Rahim Nasry, HiH AF Country Director, answered participants’ questions regarding the project.

The provincial authorities appreciated the achievements of Hand in Hand Afghanistan in Dar-e-Suf Payeen and Dar-e-Suf Bala districts and thanked EU for funding the project. They expressed how HiH AF model has had remarkable impact on communities’ lives through job and microenterprise creation and requested for project expansion in all districts of the province.

At the end of the event, the participants were invited to visit the exhibition of HiH AF’s Self Help Groups products. The products were mainly, dairy, honey, handicrafts, embroideries and etc.
