Hand in Hand Afghanistan (HiH Af) is a not-for-profit organization based in Afghanistan. It started operations in 2007, following a request at the 2006 London Donor Conference. HiH Af is part of the international Hand in Hand (HiH) network of independent organizations, working together towards a shared vision to alleviate poverty through job creation. The overall Hand in Hand mission is to promote the economic and social empowerment of women, by supporting the creation of sustainable enterprises, improved livelihoods and jobs.Background:
The Hand in Hand Afghanistan currently implementing projects in Balkh, Samangan, Jawzjan and Sar i Pul provinces of Afghanistan funded by DFID, EC and HIH-International through its main office in Kabul and regional office in Mazare Sharif – Balkh province.
Duties & Responsibilities:
The Marketing Officer will work under direct supervision of the District Officer to support the entrepreneurs in Dara-e-Suf district to promote the quality of products and enhance marketing advantages in SHGs & CIGs.
In particular the Market Linkage Officer will:
Mobilization entrepreneur members in formation of association and linking entrepreneur members to active cooperatives at the area.
Develop marketing strategy for CIGs and Associations.
Visit male and female entrepreneur members to improve their products’ value and link them to local markets to sell their products.
Conduct market linkage and value chain addition trainings for CIGs and associations.
Support CIGs and Associations to establish market linkage with public and private sectors
Organize knowledge management and sharing of experiences sessions through cross fertilization visits among CIGs
Arrange exhibition for the CIGs’ products at the district, provincial and regional levels
Monitor and supervise the project progresses based on developed work plan and propose necessary modification in the project design in coordination with the Program Manager.
Orient HiH field staff on market linkage and value addition.
Any other related tasks assign by her/his supervisor.
Holding of BBA is preferred.
Minimum of three (3) years of practical experience in marketing and value chain addition
Good communication skills and ability to work in a team to achieve organizational goals;
Dari/Pashto and English languages (Reading, Writing and Speaking), speaking and understanding of local languages will be an advantage.
Resident of Dara Suf Bala or Payen district of Samangan province.
Great team working, communication and interaction skill.
Ability to travel to target areas districts
Competency in using computer e.g: Word, Excel and Power Point, Outlook, Internet.
