In April 2025, Hand in Hand Afghanistan, with funding from the World Food Programme (WFP), successfully implemented the Unconditional Seasonal Support under the project titled “General Food Distribution (IPC+)”. The initiative aimed to alleviate food insecurity and support crisis-affected households across four districts of Sar-e-Pul province.
A total of 12,518 households (HHs) received essential food packages in the following districts:
- Gosfandi: 1,992 HHs
- Sancharak: 5,070 HHs
- Sozma Qala: 2,511 HHs
- Balkhab: 2,945 HHs
Each household received six essential food items to help meet basic nutritional needs:
- Wheat Flour (50 kg)
- Vegetable Oil (4.55 kg)
- Split Peas (6.25 kg)
- Salt (0.5 kg)
- Lipid-based Nutrient Supplement (LNS) (1.5 kg)
- Fortified Wheat Soya Blend (WSB) (3 kg)
This distribution contributed significantly to preventing malnutrition, improving food security, and strengthening the resilience of vulnerable populations, in four rounds of distribution since winter. By supporting families during a critical period, the initiative also played an important role in promoting community stability and well-being.
The impact of this project is profound, not only addressing immediate food needs but also strengthening the resilience of vulnerable households.
