Background:
Hand in Hand Afghanistan (HiH Af) is a not-for-profit organization based in Afghanistan. It started operations in 2007. HiH Af is part of the international Hand in Hand (HiH) network of independent organizations, working together towards a shared vision to alleviate poverty through job creation. The overall Hand in Hand mission is to promote the economic and social empowerment of women, by supporting the creation of sustainable enterprises, improved livelihoods and jobs.
Hand in Hand Afghanistan has implemented projects funded by DFID, European Commission, CAFOD, WFP, GIZ, USAID, Sida, Australian Embassy in Kabul ,Hilti Foundation and Hand in Hand International through its main office in Kabul and regional office in Mazar-e-Sharif.
The Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development (MRRD) will implement Women Economic Empowerment Rural Development Program (WEE-RDP) in 76 districts covering all 34 provinces of Afghanistan. WEE-RDP promotes women’s economic empowerment through strong financially sustainable and self-managed community institutions, improved income, sustainable enterprises, and developing increased access to finance and markets.
Hand in Hand Afghanistan is shortlisted to submit a proposal as Facilitating Partner (FP) to Provide Implementation Support for Community Mobilization and Institutions Development for Sare-e-Pul and Samangan Provinces.
In advertising this position, Hand in Hand is aiming to identify and select a qualified candidate for the above mentioned position, his/ her CV will become part of a bid for WEE-RDP proposal. The selected candidate will be awarded the contract if the proposal is accepted and the candidate is also approved by the donor.
Key Responsibilities:
The Regional Program Manager will be responsible for overall in charge for conducting all programs activities in the Provinces. S/he in particular will;
- Plan, manage, and coordinate the implementation of the WEE-RDP Project in the selected district of the province.
- Assist in the identification and solution of key points related with the implementation of the project activities regarding Self-help Groups (SHGs), Village Saving and Loan Associations (VSLA), Enterprise Groups (EGs) and Producers Associations.
- Ensure effective coordination and representation to, and with, WEE-RDP the Provincial Rural Rehabilitation and Developments (PRRDs), provincial and district governors and NGOs, and all other relevant stakeholders.
- Mentoring and handholding of all relevant project staff in assessments, designing, implementation and monitoring & evaluation.
Job Requirement:
A bachelor’s degree in business administration, economics, commerce, social sciences or other related field with at least five years of relevant work. Master degree is preferred.
