In June 2014 Hand in Hand Afghanistan started implementation of Business Development Training Project” in Bamyan province to train and build the capacity of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) through out the province. The project is awarded by the Afghanistan Rural Enterprise Development Program (AREDP) of Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development (MRRD) and is originally funded by the World Bank.
The specific objectives of this project are:
1) to build the capacity of SMEs in accounting, financial management and budgeting;
2) to increase competitiveness of SMEs through the provision of training courses on marketing and market management and marketing strategy;
3) to increase SMEs knowledge on business ethics, health and safety, business law, tax, business ethics and business related social challenges (e.g. child labor and gender);
4) to improve understanding and utilization of best basic practices in business management and administration; and finally to improve understanding and utilization of best practices in operations and supply chain management.
