Hand in Hand Afghanistan conducted a stakeholders’ engagement meeting at Mazar office to present the progress of its ongoing projects, receive feedback from the participants regarding its operation in different districts and also mark the conclusion of its two projects in Balkh province.
In this meeting Head of Balkh Department of Labour and Social Affairs, representatives from Economy department, non-governmental organizations, community leaders and project beneficiaries participated.
Hand in hand Afghanistan presented the ongoing projects progress and future plans which was followed by a speech from Mr. Matiullah Matin, Director of Balkh Department of Labour and Social Affairs who talked about the importance of the work Hand in Hand Afghanistan is doing and thanked the organization for its support to the poor households and also encouraged the project beneficiaries to make the best use of the opportunities.
The community leader from Shahrak Ulia village on behalf of the its community thanked Hand in Hand Afghanistan and its donors for implementing the village uplift project in their area where 110 women have now found a source of income.
During this event, a total of 29 set of enterprise startup toolkits were distributed to the project beneficiaries under the Socio-Economic Empowerment of Women and Men project in Chimtal district of Balkh province and 170 more women will receive their toolkits in the coming months.
Hand in Hand Afghanistan is currently implementing 7 projects in 5 provinces Afghanistan and supporting a total of 5,000 households.
