Hand in Hand Afghanistan Conducts Stakeholders Meeting in Kabul
Hand in Hand Afghanistan conducted a stakeholders’ engagement and coordination meeting in Kabul to present the progress of the Empowering Women in Afghanistan (EWA) project to the stakeholders, receive their feedback and further engage them into the project. Hand in Hand Afghanistan is implementing the EWA project in Kabul, Parwan and Balkh provinces in partnership with Care Afghanistan’s Every Voice Count (EVC) program. The objective of this project is to economically empower and strengthen the socio-economic rights of poor rural women in Kabul, Parwan and Balkh provinces. The project targets 1,100 women to be trained in entrepreneurship, skills and provide support for micro-enterprise development and market linkages for a period of two years.
In this meeting representatives from Parwan Department of Women’s Affairs, Care Afghanistan, EVC implementing partners, community leaders and project beneficiaries participated.
Hand in Hand Afghanistan presented the project progress, challenges and future plans which was followed by speeches from representatives of Department of Women’s Affairs and community leaders. All the speakers talked about the importance of the work Hand in Hand Afghanistan is doing and thanked the organization for its support to the poor households specially the women and also encouraged the project beneficiaries to make the best use of the opportunities provided by the project.
The meeting concluded following a question and answer session where the panel provided responses and clarifications to the questions raised by the participants.
