Hand in Hand Afghanistan Organization (HIHAO) organized formation of the Inclusive Community Peace Council (CPC) in Shahrake Wali Asr of Mazar-e-Sharif city, Balkh province. Directorate of Women Affairs, heads of community, scholars of Wali Asr and members of the community peace council attended the event. The community peace council is formed comprising 20 members (13 female and 7 male) who are active members of the community. The key positions such as head of the council, deputy, and secretary of the council where all elected through a democratic process and it was women filling all the three key positions. The role of this inclusive community peace council is to resolve households and community level conflicts, reduce violence and engage in social justice.
