Hand in Hand Afghanistan has been implementing the Empowering Women in Afghanistan project in Bagram and Jabulseraj districts of Parwan province targeting 410 poor and vulnerable women. The project started in December 2018 and will end by December 2020, funded by Hilti Foundation through Hand in Hand International.
Hand in Hand Afghanistan organized the project reporting and closeout event in Parwan province where the project achievements were presented to the stakeholders and governmental authorities. The deputy governor of Parwan province, Director of Economy department, Director of Women’s Affairs department and representatives from Rural Rehabilitation and Development department, Community Development Councils, community elders and women entrepreneur’s council participated. The participants talked about the value and importance of the work Hand in Hand Afghanistan is doing and thanked the organization for its support to the poor households specially the women and also encouraged the project beneficiaries to make the best use of the opportunities provided by the project. The governmental authorities and community elders requested Hand in Hand Afghanistan to expand and implement these kinds of empowerment projects in other communities of Parwan province.
