HiH Af held coordination and reporting meeting to present on-going projects progress and further engage stakeholders. In this meeting government official, sectorial departments, community elders, representatives of beneficiaries and partner organizations participated.
HiH Af presented the on-going projects progress and future plans, participants discussed about their role, Director of Lobour, Social Affairs, Martyrs and Disabled departments appreciating the work of HiH Af said “I am happy to say that, HiH Af is delivering great work by creating jobs for the most vulnerable people including women, returnees, and displaced, and we have always monitored their projects” and awarded an appreciation letter to HiH Af.
Director of Women Affairs acknowledging the work of HiH Af said “women empowerment is significant and HiH Af has helped us in empowering women through enterprises and job creation”.
Currently HiH Af is implementing four projects as follow:
Socio-Economic Empowerment of Women and Men in Chimtal district of Balkh province, this project so far has covered 961 (83% female) persons, from this, 919 of them completed Business Development Services Training, 592 of them completed vocational skills training and received enterprise startup kits.
Village Uplift Program in Shahrak Ulia of Faqir Abad, Mazar-e-Sharif. This project covers 110 women, all received business development services training and 99 of them has completed vocational skills training and received enterprise startup kits.
Village Uplift Program in Shah Rahim village of Khulm district, Balkh province. This project covered 112 women, all received business development services training and are currently receiving vocational skills training.
Creating Future Economic Prospect for Reintegration of Returnees and IDPs in north and north-eastern regions of Afghanistan. This project targets 1500 (90% women) returnees and IDPs in Balkh, Samangan and Baghlan provinces and so far has covered 1159 families, trained them in poultry and provided support including layers chicken, chicken feed, feeders and other tools for poultry in order to establish micro-enterprises.
On the side of this event, HiH Af’s entrepreneurs showcased and sold their products, the entrepreneurs were encouraged by participants of the event, and respective sectorial departments promised continues cooperation with both HiH Af and the entrepreneurs.
During this event, Director of Labour, Social Affairs, Martyrs and Disabled of Balkh province, Mr. Mateen, presented a Certificate of Appreciation to Chief Executive of Hand in Hand Afghanistan, Mr. Abdul Rahim Nasry, indicating their acknowledgement and appreciation from work and projects of HiH Af and wished success in future endeavors.
